Project: The Alchemy Moon Station

Art Fundraiser Display:

The Alchemy Moon Station will be a shaded artistic area whose nature and happenings will constantly be changing throughout Alchemy. I am requesting art funds to decorate the "station" with mind expanding spandex and string art designs that will create an enclosed shaded space for workshops, dance parties, tea parties, movie watching and whatever else the community would like to do in the space.

The funds will also go toward decorated tunnels leading to other enclosed art projects and theme camps. Imagine a central hub that you enter and walk through to get to other theme camps connected to it. The tent will be surrounded with spandex designs between each pole which will create a closed space within the tent but allow for maximum air flow to keep the area cool. The artistic enclosure will create maximum energy for dance parties, a great place for night time movie watching, and a cool and shaded place for workshops. At night the inside will be illuminated with UV that will give the inside of the tent the vibe of being in outerspace complete with floating UV stars and other UV deco.

The artistic funds request is for the decorations. The space however will have an open signup for community activities. You only need to send me your idea of what you would like to do in the space and the time you would like to do it and I will make a schedule best I can. I envision this are as an ever changing space where if you visit one hour there will be a dance party and if you visit another hour, you might catch an interesting movie played on the projector.

I invite other theme camps to also "build" off of the station. Together we can create PVC tunnels leading to other camps from the center moon station hub.

Proposed Budget:

$160 - 20 pieces of 2 yard spandex @ $8/2yard (spandex art enclosure)
$32 - 20 pieces of rebar @ $1.55/each (used to make tubes to other camps)
$12 - 1 roll of 100 ft irrigation piping used to make tunnels
$70 - 20 yards of material used to 'semi' cover the tubes leading to other art and camps
$8 - 1 roll duct tape to hold material on pvc
$10 - Zip Ties to hold string to poles, need large ones and 3 packs maybe 4
$17.52 - taxes and incidentals
